can you explain shutter speed to me (and/or maybe aperture/exposure)? pretty please? I can't do anything in manual mode because I never know which settings I should use. thank you.
READ YOUR MANUAL. Can’t stress that enough! It super, duper helps.
Shutter speed is how fast your shutter clicks open and shut, the picture is taken inbetween these 2 clicks. So if your shutter speed is really slow anything that moves inbetween the first and the second click will be blurry, and if it’s too fast there won’t be enough time for the camera to capture light, and it will appear grainy. So experiment!
Aperture controls your Depth of Field, basically how much of the image will be in focus. The lower the number the blurrier the background of the image will be, while the foreground remains in focus.
The exposure just refers to how long your sensor is exposed to light (aka, taking the photograph). You use your shutter speed and your aperture to control this. It’s the length of time between when your shutter clicks open and shut and is gathering information. Long exposures are often used in the dark when your camera needs more time to capture light in order to have enough information to form a non grainy photograph.
I am the bitch-post-something guy and I'm glad you have actually posted something. Love you more and more
Ahahaha, you’re famous, dude! Pretty much everyone I know was all: “who was that person that said ‘bitch post something?’ ” and I’m like: “hell if I know.” You started a lot of conspiracy theories among my friends. :P Although, they would (and do) just say that to my face.
Since your unschooled do you plan on being a photographer for living? If you hadn't discovered photography what would you have done when you grew up? I've never heard of unschooled before.
That’s the dream. I’m sure I would have discovered something else. Even those in school scarcely know what they want to do with the rest of their life, I’m lucky that even IF I haven’t found what I’m going to do for the rest of mine, I have something so fulfilling to fill the void.
So your parents don't care that you get an education? Or you don't?
My parents care a lot about my education. They just have non-traditional ideas of how to go about it, but I agree with those non-tradional ideas. School was always an option for me, I am not in an oppressive cult, but I chose to live the life I’m living.
Whats it like being homeschooled? Do your parents teach you? Did you ever go to public school? Just curious, I think you're interesting.
Thank you, all I ever want is to be interesting! I went to a public Catholic school until Grade 2 where I left and was at first homeschooled, and then gradually became “unschooled” a term that most people are unfamiliar with and have had to describe to people since I was 8 years old as ‘a weekend everyday’ ;)
